Our Story

You may be wondering why there are chickens as part of our wedding logo.

It all started back in 2020 when Chelsey decided she wanted backyard chickens. Soon after, she discovered that thanks to a law in Baltimore County, only residents with over one acre of land were able to “legally own” backyard chickens. This just didn’t sit right with Chelsey so thanks to her stubborn and strong-willed genes, she formed a small group known as the Backyard Chicken Caucus and worked to change the existing law.

This is where David comes into the picture.

David was the Baltimore County Councilman who sponsored the backyard chicken bill. After the bill passed (emphasis on the word “after”), Chelsey and her group wanted to thank David for his help in passing the new bill and to celebrate the win so they took him out to dinner where the two officially met.

David and Chelsey started dating shortly thereafter. And the rest as they say is history.

Oh and one more thing, David proposed in Chelsey’s chicken coop with a golden egg. The chickens approved.
